Pieds Nus takes concrete action to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable people, in Morocco, Tanzania (Zanzibar and Kigoma), Burundi and Madagascar.
Our story
Pieds Nus was born of a simple wish: to take concrete action to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable people.
At the start of our journey, our work naturally focused on the Zanzibar archipelago in Tanzania, where we launched our first humanitarian projects. Access to drinking water, help for families and the development of lasting projects quickly became central to our commitment.
Over the years, thanks to the support of our volunteers, our partners and our donors, our work has grown well beyond Zanzibar. The needs we met on the ground led us to work in new countries, while keeping the values that have driven us since day one: solidarity, respect, transparency and closeness.
Today, Pieds Nus is an international humanitarian association, active in four African countries:

Our missions revolve around several essential areas: access to drinking water through well building, support for education, food aid, sustainable development projects, and support for the most fragile people.
Since our creation, hundreds of projects have come to life thanks to the generosity of our donors and the commitment of our volunteers.
What we have built so far
Our missions
At Pieds Nus, we carry out concrete, lasting humanitarian work to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable people. Every project is designed together with local communities, to meet their real needs and foster their independence.
Access to drinking water
Water is essential to life. We build wells in villages that have none, so that families can get clean, drinkable water while the risk of waterborne diseases is reduced.
Building and renovating schools
We help build, renovate and equip schools, to give children a safe, dignified learning environment that sets them up to succeed.
Support for orphanages
We support several orphanages with regular help in different forms: food distribution, school supplies, clothing, hygiene products, care, educational activities and better infrastructure. Our aim is to give the children a safer, calmer place to live and to let them grow up in the best possible conditions.
Micro-projects
We develop income-generating micro-projects, such as chicken coops, small businesses, sewing workshops or other activities suited to local needs. These projects help families become more independent and build a more stable future.
Food aid
We organise food distributions for the poorest families, notably in times of crisis, during Ramadan or in emergencies, to meet essential needs.
Planting fruit trees
We encourage the planting of fruit trees to fight food insecurity, improve the environment and create a lasting source of food and income for communities.
Sustainable development
Beyond emergency aid, our goal is to support people towards lasting independence through projects that respect the environment, fit local realities and carry hope for future generations.
